Fall 2013 Speech Contest Announcement

春晖中文学校拟于2013年11月9日举办本校第四届中文演讲比赛。

本届比赛具体规则安排如下：

一、日期：11月9日星期六

二、 时间：下午1:30-4:00PM
各班级将需出席相应年级的比赛，非比赛时段班级照常上课。比赛具体流程根据注册人数另行通知。

三、  主题及形式：

• 主题：不限。所见所闻，历史文化故事，日常生活、事件或任务均可。自行创作内容有加分。
• 形式：中文演讲形式不限，可 朗诵，讲故事，绕口令等。
• 时间：每个学生的朗诵演讲时间限制在2分钟，超时减分。不得超过3分钟。

 四、 组织方式：

1. 分组：幼儿组 (Pre-K/K)；1-3 年级；4-6年级；7年级以上（包括AP中文班），及双语组。
2. 报名人数：不限。
3. 报名方式：参赛学生请在本班老师处登记，并提交演讲题目。
4. 报名截止：11月2日星期六
5. 评委：将由老师、家长、校方代表及校外评委组成。
6. 评分方式：演讲比赛分发音、语调、内容、流畅和仪表五方面评分。各部分占20分，总共100分。超时减分2分。
7. 奖品形式：每组评选前三名。优胜者推荐参加费城地区比赛。参赛者均有鼓励奖。

The Fourth Chinese Speech Contest Announcement

We are very excited to announce that the First State Community Chinese School will hold the 4^th Chinese Speech Contest on November 9, 2013.

GUIDELINES:

I.    Date: November 9, 2013 Saturday

II.    Time: 1:30-4:00PM

III.           Content and format

1.     Topic: Students may choose from anything that is relevant in their lives to present.

2.     Format may be chosen from but not limited to short stories, poem and etc.

3.     Time Requirement: Limited to two minutes. Speech will be limited to 2 minutes in length. Speech will be cut off at 3 minutes.

IV.            Arrangements

1.     Age groups: Pre-K/Kindergarten, Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6, Grade 7 and up (including AP class), and bilingual students.

2.     Number of Participants: No limit.

3.     Registration Requirement: Students must register with their teachers. Speech topics should be submitted at the same time.

4.     Registration Deadline: November 2, 2013

5.     Judge Panel: Teachers, parent representative, school council member and external judges will serve on the judge panel.

6.     Judging Criteria: Participants will be judged on pronunciation, intonation, content, fluency and stage appearance. 20 points are given to each category, adding up to 100 points. 2 points will be deducted for running overtime.

7.     Prize: Three award winners for each group.  Honorary prize will be provided for all other participants.
